Gina Menninger, MFT-TRNE

Clinical Therapist Intern

Welcome! I’m Gina, a Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) Intern at National University and am so grateful to be a part of Serenity Behavioral Health Services!

Our time together in session is a thoughtful and collaborative process where we work towards building trust in a safe and non-judgmental environment, regardless of race, gender, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or background. My primary objective as a marriage and family therapist is to give you the tools you need to move forward in your life.

I help my clients strengthen their self-awareness and resiliency, overcome communication and relationship challenges, or assist in finding a sense of direction or purpose during periods of stuckness.  I also help process recent (or not so recent) mental health diagnoses/behavioral health issues and guide you in your next steps towards alignment with your unique needs and preferences. I thrive in helping people make small changes that have lasting impacts.

My approaches to therapy are rooted in spirituality and evidenced-based practices such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Narrative Family Therapy, Emotion Focused Family Therapy, Structural Family Therapy, Gottman Methods, strengths-based therapy, motivational interviewing, somatic experiencing, and meditation.

I have personal and professional experience with individuals, couples, children, adolescents, and families living with chronic pain, anxiety, depression, personality disorders, PTSD, ADHD, divorce, infidelity, and OCD.

The human experience is a wild ride and I look forward to being a part of your journey!
